Review: Baby Wings Mash 'n Stash Weaning Pots

Fern is 8 months old and we are currently in the first few months of our weaning journey. As such, the people at Baby Wings recently sent us their Mash 'n Stash Weaning Pots to review!

We're still in a very exploratory stage of weaning, finding out which tastes are favourites and trying again (and again, and again…) the tastes Fern isn't so sure about. As such, I do a lot of freezing left over food for later, in the hope she'll miraculously gain a taste for it next time. Sometimes, she even does!

Before receiving this product, I used random plasticware and ice cube trays to freeze down left over pouches or homemade purees. This meant my system was a bit higgledy-piggledy to say the least. The pots from Baby Wings have made this a lot easier. It is kind of like a giant ice cube tray but prettier and easier to extract your frozen stuff for and have made!

It is made from BPA free, food grade silicone which makes it nice and flexible, meaning you can take the contents out of one of the ten pots without disturbing any of the other compartments. It's super easy to grab from the freezer and stick back in, and with it being bright purple (I really love the colour) and distinctive you needn't rifle through all your pots to find what you're looking for, so that's a bonus.

The lid is also made of silicon and sort of snaps on, fitting snugly meaning you avoid any freezer burn. Top tip – don't try and squeeze in the last little drop that you are not sure will go in, because it wont and it'll spill out over the top! Doh!

The tray comes with a card sleeve, which has some nice little recipes for inspiration on there. I love the branding too, which would certainly catch my eye if I were shopping for baby products.

The Mash 'n Stash Weaning costs are available to buy from Amazon, at a price of £9.93 with free delivery. As far as value for money, I have to be honest and say that this probably isn't something I'd go out and actively spend the best part of a tenner on, however having looked at similar products on the market I notice that this is a comparatively good price for the quality of the product. Having used the product too I'd be more likely to go and buy another, knowing how easy it makes weaning. I'd also recommend it'd make a nice gift for a weaning parent who will no doubt appreciate it very much!

Baby Wings also have lots of colourful and practical products which all look fab. A little birdie also tells me you can get 15% off your first order when you sign up to their mailing list too, which is very nice indeed!

Let me know your weaning tips and tricks in the comments, goodness knows I could do with them!
